Any reasonable prices for supercharger

I'm doing a 350 tpi swap into my monte carlo ss. The next step once I get everything straightened out I want to supercharge it. What type of money am I going to be looking to buy a used supercharger? I see them going for up towards $3000. What do they generally go for used. Is there a lower end one? OR a mid range that will wind up being reasonable if I don't purchase brand new. The internal engine is stock. I have slp runners, and an adjustable fuel regulator. I will have tes headers on it eventually. It is still going to be a daily driver, so I don't need something with a huge boost on it.

Buy the SC/TC books that everyone talks about so you understand boost. Or seach the board for how boost works. Once you understand it then you can start looking for the SC.
I know a few people that have bought used SCs off of E-bay. You usually need some fab skills & fab tools when going that route. Buying a decent welder, metal cutting tools, etc. could cost more than a complete brand new SC for your app.
Just something to think about when searching for used stuff. If you have the tools & skills then go for it.

I'd have my cousin(master certified gm mech) do it for me. I need to read a little more on this.
