F1-R project continues.....
i just realized that i am going to have to fabricate some sort of mandrel for my alternator crank pulley.
i have a mandrel now, but it has a crank snout style shaft with a key that fits into the front of the balancer.
the problem is the cog drive ATI crank pulley has a hole in it just big enough for the crank bolt to fit through.....so my first thought was to machine the hole out big enough to put the mandrel shaft through it.....but there is a boss on the back of the pulley that fits into the balancer......so i don't want to potenitally ruin the concentricity of the crank pulley.......so i was thinking of removing the shaft part from the alternator mandrel and just fabricating a flange to secure it to the 3 balancer bolt holes.
anyone else do this? the problem is there is only 1 vee belt groove on the cog drive pulley, so i need to use that for the power steering.
