Supercharger/Compression questions

Hi there,

I am looking at buying a supercharger for my setup I have a couple of questions.

1) Can you tell me what compressoin i have from the specs below
2) Which ati supercharger should I buy

1985 Iroc
Holley stealth ram
24lb injectors
Comp xe262 cam
Speed pro L2304 pistons (30 over) ( believe they are 100thou dome)
Edelbrock performer 72cc aluminum heads
hooker 1 5/8 headers

Any help would be great. Let me know if you need more info.

Transmission: ProBuilt S/S 700-R4 & ACT 9" Stall
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 3.23
If you have the correct part numbers... these would be your pistons.

Under the notes Section: "Approximate compression ratios: 11.40:1 with 58cc, 10.63:1 with 64cc, 10.15:1 with 68cc, 9.71:1 with 72cc, and 9.31:1 with 76cc head."

That all depends on what head gasket you used and if the heads have not been touched at all.

Was that the notes about the pistons ?
I looked by couldnt find them.

The head gaskets I used were felpro's I don't know which ones they were they were the ones the parts guy gave me.

but in any case if it was 9:71 compression what kind of boost can I run on pump gas etc... and what blower should I look at. I have been thinking the D1 but i am looking for advice.

Again any reply's or help is awsome.

Thanks guys.

I have it hyper linked for you... just click on the underlined portion to see it. Yes that was the note about the pistons.

I'm no expert on forced induction but I would also be looking into a D-1SC. If you look at Tenacious Performance they offer the unofficial ATI Twin intercooler kit. The kit was made by Willie from this board, ATI does not officially offer it though so the only place that you can get it is form tenacious performance, unless you know the exact parts you need to order.

You can call up ATI Tech line and talk them. ProCharger Centrifugal Superchargers is there website

Nice, thanks for the help. If you check :::PERFORMANCE PLUS DISTRIBUTORS::: they offer some kits with the intercooler.

What kind of power did you make with that kit 87formula ? and what size injectors etc... did you use. Also what did you do for a chip ?

Thanks again.

Assuming that the engine has been 0 decked when it was built and you're running the generic fel pro gasket it's going to be more like 10.4:1...

I wouldn't plan on running much boost with that.

Why do you say that ??

I don't know if it was 0 decked. I used to have camel bump heads on it and it ran fine on pump gas and those are smaller CC if i am correct.

we never got around to dyno'n it.we used 26pd accel injectors and the chip was custom burned by a local guy.we did get nice 1.5* 60 fts. out of it we didnt beat it through the whole 1/4 mile though but was in mid 12's.
