alloy block?

I was thinking of buying a aluminuim 400sb for my blower or turbo engine. Why because its light and original.Could i run 600- 700hp with a alloy block, if not i would go with either the dart or bowtie blocks. I might just go with a blown 406 till i graduate and can better afford my twin turbo engine $25k. why don't i ever see alloy blocks is it just because they are so expensive or is there issues with alloy and tons of hp? Just a thought

they tend to have sealing problems and also are easy to strip out holes. Its a reliability issue, I dunno how the LS1's are any better but thats just what Ive picked up through my readings.
