Paxton rebuilds?
Paxton rebuilds?
I have had nothing but good results with my paxton SN 2000 m. However, hearing all of the problems with the ball drive uints, i was wondering where i could get mine serviced and how much it cost? I have 8K miles on my paxton, I change the oil every 3mo which is usually about 1500 miles. I have had no complaints except the tech dept!!!!!!!!!
! Anyhow, Where can i get the unit rebuilt when needed and How often do i need to get it repaired?

Paxton probably still services the SN2000 models themselves. The older units like sn92s are referred to Paradise Wheels for service. They may also service the newer ones as well, I don't know though. You can see more at https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000531.html

I thought my SN2000 was going to go today (less than 1K on it) cause I started hearing this horrible whining at idle. So I drive home (about 4 miles), pull off the S/C head unit and start the car w/o it. The car still whines, i guess it is the p/s or alternator (can't build up charge, so maybe alt). I listened for it w/ a hose, but couldn't 100% pinpoint it. Before the paxton i didn't mind changing the alt, but know if is a f-cking pain! I hate the SN2000, always worried it will break on me! Maybe i should start saving up for a vortech/ati.. or just an LT1 car.
First thing you should do is release the tension on the supercharger belt, then if the whinning stops....you may have a problem
However, an altenator can make similar noise as you have described.
However, an altenator can make similar noise as you have described. It was the alternator. The main ground cable was literally touching the big output cable from the alternator and arcing i guess. I moved the ground and replaced the alternator and it seems fine now... go figure.
