direct port nitrous

ok, I saw a picture of a sweet direct port nitrous set-up the other day where all of the injectors were hidden under the plenum and the supply lines ran out the back. is this a custom job or does someone make a kit to do this? I can see how it would not be too hard to simply drill and tap the runners and screw in the nitrous injectors, but is that how it is done? just curious, something to look forward to down the road

I don't know if they still make it or not, but NOS used to make a kit for an under the inake manifold, direct port set up. If they still make it you could probably install it in the manifold, runners or plenum.

A buddy of mine tried to install it into his Carb manifold & ended up destroying the manifold. with the manifold that he had, he had to put the injector nozzles right up towards the edge of the runner & it cracked the aluminum. He bought another manifold & took it up to NOS (when they were here in So Cal) & they did it for him (for a few $$$). It worked OK, until he ran the motor out of oil & bend a con rod. It is not worth the Pain if you ask me.

actually, I would be doing it during a buildup anyway so the manifold, plenum, and runners would already be apart
