i am looking into getting a 86 trans am with a 305 TPI and a 700r4 tranny. i have only seen superchargers for 88-92 TPI cars. i was just wondering if they just werent listed in the catalog i was looking in or if they dont make them for an 86. if they dont, then what is the difference between a 86 and a 88 TPI 305? if so, does anyone have one on thier 86 and have some pictures?

 

They only made the paxton Sn series for early (non-serpentine) tpi cars. Every other company that makes TPI superchargers (vortech and ati basically) only makes 88-92. Some people just spend the $100-$250 and convert to serpentine (very easy) and then use whatever supercharger they want.

Anyone take a look at the latest summit catalog where the featured car is a late model truck where some dude custom made a PAXTON NOVI 1000 bracket/intake tubing for his 383 TPI...?

It got 366 hp/411 lb ft with all that work (and 10 psi), I kinda thought a miniram or superram would have been a much better idea then the edlebrock ltr/base combo he used. oh well.
