IT LIVES!

Woohoo.Everything went good today. If I had to sum the day up it would be leaks ,leaks leaks.Well ,not bad ones .I had little leaks from all my fuel line connections,(were not tight enough)and my tranny cooler lines and oil cooler lines. All taken care of.Tec 2 took the program instantly.Have just one problem, injectors were not getting the 12 volts so I hot wired them to the altinator to get the car to start, relay I installed to turn on the pump and injectors of the Tec 2 signal at startup must be junk.Car cranked over after this on the first shot.Idled very good.60 psi oil pressure at idle. After contiuasly starting the car the battery took a dump.Starter wouldnt crank anymore, and tec 2 wasent getting the 12 volts at the computer and injectors.Car wouldnt start after this.Well I did idle it for a few minutes.Idle is kind of lumpy, open headers sound way to cool, too bad it aint legal cause Im temted to try it.I will be playing with it tommorow.

Bad @SS!

Glad most of it went well. It always seem like electrically problems occur at the worst times.

I bet that mother sounds bad on open headers and the ProCharger screaming!

procharged, what do you think of your TEC II? i met a guy this summer in one of my class's here at school who has a twin turbo 460 ford, and has the TEC II. he goes on and on about how nice it is and its ease of use. He said that its made his life about ten times easier since he doesnt have to deal with a distributor(and can adjust timing so easily now). he wa telling me about how he engages his lower rev limiter to pull out timing at 1500rpms (when he's draging) so his turbo's can spool up(also has it wired to his brake so when he hits the brake it engages the rev limiter).. i can imagine how awesome that is when the car launches.. anyways, what do you think about it?

Sorry I didnt reply right away.Heres the scoop.I love it too.Its awesome.Easy to tune, and no more distributor. You can raise and lower the timing while it is running, all through the computer.Idle too,Want to make it idle a 100rpm lower, just punch it in and load it to the Tech 2.I have the newest version of the Wintec software. The wintec software is so easy anyone can tune.It has a tuning Wizard. You type in basic parimeters of your motor and the Wizard generates a program for you to get the car running. When I did this my car fired up first time and had a rock steady idle.It also has a check engine light for mounting in the compartment,it utilizes the pump turn on like factory, energizes pump for specified seconds, when computer doesnt see car running it turns it off.I paid $1600 for it with a couple of guys through B & R in AZ.It comes with the coil packs, which the computer is mounted in also, all the sensors,Map(1,2,or 3 bar),Mat,coolent,TPS.Comes with all the wiring for the sensors.I reused my idle control sensor and knock though, these sensors are not included.Crank trigger wheel, trigger wheel sensor, software. It is so easy to hook up too.Software is very easy to learn.Every single parameter that you can change has a help menu, you highlight the parameter you want to change, hit F1,and the help screen for that paticular parameter comes up,explaining the parameter, what to set it at to start out, explains everything, like the manual is intergrated into the software. The coil packs are extreemly powerful, they fire 2 times on every cylinders 4 stroke rotation, once on combustion, like it does normally, and once more on the exhaust stroke.Anyone that knows ignitions knows a MSD for example can fire a plug for 20 degrees crankshaft rotation. The Tec 2 can fire a plug for 120 dgrees crankshaft rotation, the coil packs pack a punch. You dont know how much I like this system, and not having to deal with a distributor and erratic or off timing. The crank trigger is dead on,no questions,no spark scatter, and timing can be adjusted through the computer. My friend is so impressed he is getting one too when his motor is finished.Im sorry to say though that this system is very much so underated by many,it doesn have a big name like speedpro, but the actual owners and users cant say enough about it.I got 50lb injectors from B&R too at the time for $400.It also has a GPO output I forgot to tell you about, that can control lockup like factory ecm,or control fan turn on,nitrous solinoids, intake control(like controlling a Vtec honda)etc. If you are interested in the system let me know I can get more in depth via email if you want,There is much more than what I can say here.
