Need advice on whether to buy car with Paxton SC
Need advice on whether to buy car with Paxton SC

That is the car, my brother looked at it yesterday and said that it would have to be repainted and the interior is shot(guy bought new stuff for interior though). My concern is it has 5000 miles on a Paxton SN2000 which I know is not a very good supercharger. I wish it either had no supercharger or a vortech or procharger. Do you think it would be a wise investment to buy a car with a Paxton or do you think that I would be asking for trouble real soon? To make things worse it has a V-belt setup, so paxton is the only SC that would work on this car. It is fast and all, but would it be reliable for another 50,000 miles? What are some signs of failure/good operation I could look for in the Paxton that might give me an idea of how long it will last?

My truck went through 2 SN93 and 1 SN2000 in 30,000 miles if that is any indication. Also, I only ran mine at the track a total of 6 runs. It was mainly a show truck that I beatup on Mustangs with once in a while. So keep that in mind. Car might be worth 8500 since it has a zz4 motor in it and other goodies. Might go as high as 9k but I wouldn't give 9500 for it. Just my $.02. I would also go ahead and have that SN2000 rebuilt while its still running. MUCH cheaper than waiting til she dies. Once mine started making noise it usually died before I got it back to the house.

Transmission: T-5 5 speed
Axle/Gears: stock... whatever that means :)
Since we're so damn close to each other...
See if you can get the car without the blower. Or buy it and IMMEDIATELY JUNK THE BLOWER OR SELL THE BLOWER. Then go to a junkyard and ****** the serpentine setup off an 88 and up Camaro or Firebird. Then go and get yourself a REAL BLOWER (Procharger or Vortech).
Those planetary ball drives wont last very long if you overspeed them or dont change the fluid in them. Sure you can get the fluid cooler, but if you have a big gaping cut, why put a band-aid on it? Feel me?
Ummm... Do you by chance go down V street or Metro? If so, holla at me on AOL instant messenger. My AIM name is CrazyJW1971.
