N2O and manual tranny...
When is it safe to hit the nos button when your shifting?
Do you have to be in 5th gear wide open?
Can I use it sooner like in 3rd, and if I do what happens when the nitrous is flowing and I change gears to fourth. I thought you have to have it wide open at all times when the nitrous is flowing?

You can use nitrous in any gear. If you wait until you are in 5th You probably have already lost.
Yes you should be at wide open throttle when using it.
You can use a manually operated normaly open switch on the gear shift. You can release the button while shifting...
and/or you can use a normaly open full throttle switch to activate the system only when the throttle is fully depressed...
and/or you can use a normaly closed switch on the clutch pedal to disengage the nitrous when the clutch pedal is depressed.
