As my next semi-low-budget mod to my car, im lookin into getting a performance chip. What chip should I go for, and with the said chip, what kind of power gain or other features should I expect to get from it? Are they as simple to install as just "plugging them in"?

1990 Iroc-Z
305 TPI
0-60 in 6.8 (timed)
2.73 Posi (3.42 or 3.73 to come)
Flowmaster exhaust
T-tops
Red w/ black racing stripes
Pioneer headunit, stock speakers, Rockford 10'' punch woofers

Ricers beware...I eat you three meals a day

And the Camaro said to the Civic "Now, I know what you're thinking...in all of that mess, did he have 8 cylinders, or only 6? You just gotta ask yourself one question...do you feel lucky? Well do ya....punk???

Some people think it's a waste of time. Depends on your mods. Out of a generic chip you might only see 5 HP...

With a custom chip, tuned to your specifications, though, you can see a LOT of power...an Ed Wright fastchip sounds good... www.fastchip.com

He also makes generic chips for our cars, and from what I'm told they're the best out of the bunch...that or maybe a JET Stage II....stay away from Hypertech.

with relatively no mods on your vehicle a chip is what you think it's worth.spend the money to burn your own,you can practice with your current setup until you get proficient at it.then tune when you get into the bigger mods.iif you are comitted to a chp ed wriight is the way to go but he's expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
