junkyard turbos

I know turbos can be had at a junkyard for a pretty low cost, but what car should I request they be taken off of? No junkyards around here allow you to pull the parts yourself, so you have to request a specific car, year, and model.

I'm also going for a twin-turbo 350 or 383 setup. I am in no way ready to have all this stuff installed, but I am starting to gather the parts.

Look in the wreckers for a turbo off a motor
of about half the size of the one your going to build and buy 2. I'd look for turbos off
an old Nissan 280Zx or something.

Some people are running 2 turbos off a mid-80's 2.2 Dodge (Daytona, GLS, etc.). I personally think they are a little small so I'm trying to get my hands on 2 GN turbos.

You might also want to look into truck turbos (box trucks, not 18 wheelers).

Good luck,

JK
