Ok i have a $20 bet goin right now wit a friend on the subject of a belt driven turbo... ok i say the exsist and he said that there is no such thing because once you put a belt drive onto a turbo it becomes a supercharger... he said that turbos cant be belt driven because the exhaust power is what makes a turbo a turbo... but i disagree because superchargers are totally different in the way the force air in and their internal componets are different... so can someone help me out and tell me who is right?? and can you also putt in some pics of a 'beltdrivin' turbo if thats possible??

Go ahead & give up the money. by definition a turbo has a turbine. if you belt drive it, it is called a centrifugal blower.

as a side note, it will not work worth a darn cause it would spin to slow to flow any air. all the centrifugals have a step up gear ration. Most are in the 4:1 neighborhood.

A turbo is a centrifugal compressor that is driven by an exhaust turbine.
The compressor part is identical on a supercharger with centrifugal compressor.
Look at these pictures. This is my Vortech supercharger. Looks a bit like a turbo, but it is not.

Your friend is $20 richer now. A centrifugal supercharger has an intake compressor which is basically the same as a turbo. The compressor is spun by the shaft for turbos and supercharges. The difference is that the turbo has an exhaust turbing powering the shaft, while a supercharger has the shaft powered by the belt (and uses a gearbox to speed up the rpm inside). HTH!

Sorry but your $20 = gone. 
TURBO is just short for "turbine driven centrifugal supercharger".
The turbine is spun by exhaust gasses.
Replace the turbine with a step-up transmission, a pulley and a belt and you have a "belt driven centrifugal supercharger".
As the guys above pointed out.
