question about nos and fuel pumps?

hi i was wondering about the fuel pumps i know u need to upgrade the pump for the extra fuel to the soliod. but my brother got a holley mech. pump from jegs and well they gave him the wrong one and gave him a better one , then the one he was suposed to get and well after he had it on his car he had small problems with the return line and stuff like it, sumtimes it would die right there from not enuff fuel. but he took it off and has that siting in the garage and he pump the stock one back on, i was wondering if i put that on and run all the necssary tubes and whatnot to the carb and fuel soliod. would that give me enuff fuel psi for the nos.so if anyone could help me that would be great.
