High end hp loss supercharging vortec heads

Im building a 383 and am looking for a lot of torque. I like the twister motor superchevy did, but I'd like around 600hp. It used some RHS vortec heads which I know arent optimal for a supercharger, but I have a v-1 that im currently using. Its only rated for 680hp anyway. Im wondering how much top end hp I would lose vs low-mid range torque gain using the vortecs or afr 190 or 195. I found an article in superchevy where they supercharged a vortec headed motor and came up with 560hp. Baseline hp was 400. It was a small cam. Could I reach my goal of 600 with these? Or would I just be completely better off with afr? I really want to retain that low end kick in the face torque.

You can hit 600hp with the right amount of psi regardless of heads. Better flowing heads will make it that much easier to get your goal (i.e. less psi and stress on the blower) but it can be done. I was pushing over 500hp through stock L98 heads with 15psi.
