fresh lg4 rebuild.. 50-75 shot nitrous ok?
I just rebuilt my engine and was wondering if a 50-75 DRY shot of nitrous would be SAFE!!! (plate system)
Engine specs
lg4 was already bored .30 over pistons and rods were in great shape
block was cleaned and honed
clevite 77 bearings
MOLY rings were put in
jegs hei dizzy
non cc q jet
stock alum intake.

Yeah, at that level it'd probably be safe, & quite possibly even a 100 shot - but nitrous has an unfortunate side-effect on people...
"Hey, that worked great! Let's go up just one jet size!"

As long as you can resist the temptation to go too high, I'd guess it should be fine.
BTW, you didn't mention what types of pistons were used (cast/hyper/forged) - that makes a big difference...

Why would you rebuild an LG4 to spec?
"Boy, that 140hp was fun, lets rebuild it to enjoy that same 140HP all over again"
I thought most carbed plate systems are wet systems. I highly mistrust dry nitrous setups, too much to go wrong... I'd prefer a wet system myself. I think you're just fine with 75hp-100hp. If it were me, i'd sleep ok going up to a 125hp, but after that i'd be leery. I'd want larger ring gaps after that.

A dry system with a carb isn't really a good idea.

ok so what if i went with a wet system? how much harder is it to make a wet system. just a small electric fuel pump off of the fuel line that goes to the mechenical pump

This is for Q-jet type spread-bore setups.
I am thinking about using this one in the future.
Only requires ~6psi from your mech pump.

$400. Damn, i'm on board! I think you can upgrade the solenoids to bring that up to a 200HP shot as well.
