quick question for the guru's please
not trying to start a long thread just trying to get the truth on nitrous and not having forged internals. i'v been told i' could run up to 100hp shot with out forged and not do damage by a mechanic.......... is he local cuz i'v allways thought and heard you have to have forged. other wise it would wear away/roll the edge of the rings. this would be in an olds 403. it's built but not forged. i'm runing low 12's right now in my 92 and i really want to get into the 11's this summer. i'v changed to a better intake and headers vs manifolds so i'm thinking i'm going to be close but a 50 or 100 shot would be cool but not if it means ruining my rings. thank you for any info.

Re: quick question for the guru's please
I have run up to a 150hp shot with good reults. It is not necessary to run forged internals at this point. Just remember nitrous likes fuel. Keep enough fuel to it and you will be fine. Almost all nitrous engine failures are from running too lean.
