Regulator piping with procharger

I have installed 1/2 in (NA8)fuel and return lines after having fuel heating problems. tha regulator that came with the ram jet is now giving me a psi of 60, verses the stock 3/8 feed line and 1/4 in return which gave me 40psi.

I'm installing a Aeromotive reg. to go with the fuel pump and filter.

1. Guy told me to run the reg. the same way as they have it which is, feed to pass. fuel rail then remove old reg. install line to side of reg and then hook main return into bottom of reg. Adjust to 43psi (the other side of reg. will be plugged)

2. Guy at speed shop said run fuel into one side of reg. and out the other to the fuel rail and block off the other side of the rail where the reg(old) was hooked up too.

3. So I was wondering if I could run out of reg, y block out and supply both fuel rails and have the return on the bottom of the regulator. It would be the same as the guy from shop said.

So what should I do to get the fuel right,!!!!!!!

Thanks FAST, I wish I ran in to you before I purchased
the same Pro-Charger D-1 with intercooler. The D-1 is all self
contained, is yours or does it go to oil pan?
If the second system you showed me on the diagram is good then I'm
doing it, its alot cleaner looking for me. I think that way the rails would have the same psi before the injectors right.....it would be better huh. I thank you...Also what size line did you run (fuel line). and did you have problem with fuel getting hot and bubbling in fuel tank?(Stock tank I have) But I found out the heat shield wasn't there on the 91, like my 87 camaro.

My supercharger is all self contained too. I don't have any boiling fuel type of problem. I was originally using a blow through carb. last year, so I had to run 1/2" (-8an) supply and return lines for it. Stupid a1000 aeromotive fuel pump is now just barely enough to feed my motor, can only keep 60psi at WOT 7500rpm.

What do you mean by the 60psi and WOT? WIDE OPEN THROTTLE is it huh.
I have the charger on the ram jet and the cam dies off at 5000 rpm.
I thought bout putting another cam wit a little more duration, the dude told me that .500 is the most I could go on duration, and the powder metal rods would have to be changed. I just want to fix the problems, tune it as well as I can and drive it. Maybe later I will put a fuel injected stroker in it. or get something else to put in there. I guess I should of hit up a larger pump huh,

Dyno status were 447hp with 460tq at 5000 with 10lbs of boost, the sheet had it plateu. it was still making power thou.

Tuner/installer told me fuel rails should be 43psi, what u running yours at?
Soory for the questions, all new for me.

Re: Regulator piping with procharger

What happens is that my injectors are a bit small for the power I'm making. Most setups use 43psi pressure, but I upped mine to 60psi. Then when you make boost, you should raise up the fuel pressure at least as much. When I'm at 6500rpm, the pump can keep up and puts out 80psi pressure and it should stay there all the time I'm in the boost. As I pick up rpm, the pressure tappers back down to 60psi as the pump can't keep up the higher pressure while flowing enough.

The number he said is your max sounds more like lift. My cam is why I rev so high, it specs 264/271 dur @ .050 .626"/.626" lift. Motor makes peak power at 7400rpm.

The powdered rods are decent, but as you run more rpm and power you're going to need forged h-beam rods.

That motor in your car should be fine using a pump capable of at least 60psi and flow 360lb/hr(60gph, or 3600cc/min.) at that 60psi.

Hey Fast, I thank you for the info. you have shared, I'm off the job for the rest of the week so I'm going to the speed shop for parts to replumb the fuel lines and put the rear back in the camaro while install of some heat sheeting on the fuel tank and line off the bottom of tank. Hope it works, hey there's a camaro-n- firebird deal in indianapolis raceway the 19-21 of sept. if interested send a e-mail address and I will forward info, on hotel but look for central indiana
camaro club. That is where I'm trying to role if I get it right. Thanks again
