Novi2000 build reborn...

Finally after about 40,000 miles with the Novi2000 the stock 305 has shown signs of giving up. She's been sidelined all summer with a blown head gasket, not bad for holding 12psi on the stock 305.

Been gathering parts most of the summer and the rotating assembly is at the machine shop getting balanced. 350 block is prepped and waiting. Parts list as follows:
SpeedPro forged blower pistons approx 8:1 compression
Lunati Rods
GM forged crank
Dart Pro 1 Platinum 200cc Heads
Highly siamesed Edelbrock TPI base Highly modded SLP runners
Summit 1103 cam 214 int./224 exh @ 50 112 lobe separation
Mac Headers and new 3" cat
Maybe I'll even get rid of the damn PVC pipe finally.....

At it's heart it's still a street car, always will be but this should be a nice pleasant step up the the stock 305....I think 15psi should do nicely.

Re: Novi2000 build reborn...

Finally got word from the machine shop, all the parts are ready to pick up. Talked to the owner of the shop and he said they had a bitch of a time trying to balance the assembly with the blower pulley and spacer. There is just a wee bit of play in the bolt holes so they couldn't get a consistent bob weight with blower pulley and spacer attached so they balanced without it shouldn't be a big issue since the rest of the assembly is spot on now. Any one ever run into a similar type issue? Using parts from the ATI blower kits for the crank pulley and spacer.

Re: Novi2000 build reborn...

I've read so many theories on balancing I dont really know what to think. My shop wanted everything in the assembly that would bolt to the crank, my goal was to just make sure everything was at least close to a good balance so I guess I've achieved that. I'm not worried anymore about taking it to 6500rpm if the intake, cam and blower make it feasible. Hell the stock 305 held 12psi boost at 5500 for a good long time.
