Re: some questions
Superchargers typically produce anywhere between 50 to 75% of your cars current horsepower and torque. The downside to them is the power needed to spin the propeller via belt system. It's usually not much and is compensated for the fact your making an extra 75% more horsepower than your car has.
For kits, it depends on what type of supercharger you are looking for, whether it be a roots style or a centrifugal supercharger. Roots works off the belts and has a rod which spins an impeller producing boost. Centrifugal is like a turbo, but requires either a fuel induction system or blow through carburetor.
For a roots, I suggest a Weiand 6-71 for a 383 if you have the money.
For a centrifugal I always suggest a procharger, but beware of the costs!
There is no kit for a turbo setup, however there are many parts available on the web. There are also many helpful threads in this board which will help you get started on a DIY turbo. You have a choice of going single of twin. I'm personally going to attempt a single at the moment. Turbo kits require alot of fabrication and like a centrifugal supercharger require fuel injection or a blow through carburetor. With turbo's, there is no power loss to make the turbo spin, however there is turbo lag which is how quickly the turbo responds to the force of air being pressed upon it.
You can try and contact Bermudez Brainstorming for turbo manifolds and ebay yourself all the required parts for the turbo setup including wastegate, turbo, blow off valve, oil feed kit, piping and connectors and such.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

Re: some questions
Also, for clarification, any kit that will work on a 350, will also work on a 383, they are one in the same basically besides for the crank which has nothing to do with the power adder

Re: some questions
Go on summit and buy a forged engine rebuild kit, it comes with an oil pump, forged rods, crank and pistons. All the good stuff is included. I think they have summit brand and eagle brand. I personally like the eagle.
