stock rods. i think a rod bolt broke first, then the rest of the shortblock.
i just got some 8.2:1 forged pistons and now im saving for some h-beams. then a crank. hoping to have it back together this fall

Are you gonna rebuild it as a Gen1 SBC or are you gonna go Gen3 LS-style? I saw you asking ???'s on the LTx/LSx forums. And I have seen your build over on the other forum...

i had honest intentions of using a LQ4 that a freind of mine has in his garage, and i know its probably superior, but ive come this far with the gen 1 stuff.... and i have good heads and ignition stuff, i also just got the forged pistons, i am going to stay with the "old school" gen 1 stuff.
it should easily meet my goals of a low 11 second, hopefully streetable car.
when the funds come i think i am going to ditch the dying th350 for a t56.
the cars gonna see the dragstrip maybe a couple times a year.
i figure ill let the turbo make the torque and not have to speed/power shift the t56 and it'll live witha good clutch.
im working 16 hours of overtime this weekend in hopes of buying some h-beam rods.....
we'll see, id like to have it running again this fall.
