N20 jetting question...

Does anyone know how may pounds of fuel a specific size fuel jet flows at a set fuel pressure?

I presume they are standardized mfg to mfg. anyone know what a #28 flows or a formula to use?

I have a jetting chart but I need flow numbers vs FP.

I found my TPI pump flows 24 gallons at 50 psi.

Re: N20 jetting question...

There's actually a lot more variables than one might think; definitely differences between manufacturers; some manufacturer's radius their jet inlets while others don't, some manufacturer's actually check their pills with pin gauges to insure proper sizing while others don't, etc. The next problem is there is no standard pressure for flowing, thus no reason for anyone to have made a chart.

While you can use the area formula to calculate ther area of the orifice(jet) and figure volume off of that, what the jet will flow by itself/open vs what it will flow in the system will again be different. - There's a good reason Monte, Steve, Prock, etc charge what they do to flow a system.

That said, I have some charts for mechanical fuel injection pills/jets. The orifice sizes could be used as an approximated reference, but again there are several variables that could make the same orifice size flow more or less under the same pressure. - Check a few mfi manufacturer's/tuners websites, like fuel injection enterprises, enderle, or maybe SSI. One of them may have the pill charts posted up, I don't have them up-loaded.

Re: N20 jetting question...

Thank you. I am thinking my fuel pump may not be adequately sized. I was going to increase fp but instead was directed to consider the injector bias. I increased that 50% and it appears in my logs that has given me more head room on DC%. I did a WOT in 2nd gear of 4 this am and will take a look soon. Non N20 used. Willcompare to prior WOT log B4 I upped IB.

I called Holley a couple weeks ago but was on hold too long. I emailed them no response.

I use a TPI pump but at 26 lbs FP for TBI for WOT. That is 106 lbs per hour of fuel. 106 divided by 6.67 lbs(weight of gas) = 15.89 gallons of fuel. That leaves about 30% capacity for N20.

If the logs show OK on DC w/o spray then I will continue logs with and recheck DC. My WB showed lean on spray but that would be expected at 93% DC as injectors are static and may be shutting down.
