I posted this in the LSx swap section as well incase you guys don't follow that section.
I took my car out to the track yesterday for the 1st time this year. I made a few passes with the best two being 10.58@133mph and 10.60@134. On both passes I could only manage 1.6x 60' times.
I know with this MPH the car "could" run high 9s if I could improve my 60' times. My question is this, would you guys even bother with putting in a transbrake? Or just leave it alone since it’s just a street car that I put together to prove a point to some friends of mine? I really don't want to screw up the street manners with a high stall convert.
Oh BTW my setup is basically a stock LQ4/ TH400 / ZO6 Cam/ Master power T-76/ about 10 pounds of boost.

if this is a true street car that u wont be racing much at all id leave it alone and just crank the boost about 5 psi to get the car to drop some et at the track

That is making nice power! It was your first outing and I'd call it successful. Nothing broke! I just experiwnced the same result with my turbo swapped 6 banger. I discovered I need a LOT more converter rpm, a roll control for burnouts, and maybe new drag radials(mine are 14 years old)...
I had 11 second power but only went 12.30's at 116mph. 1.95 60ft best..
My plan.. Enjoy the car all summer, new tires maybe... Winter is the time for mods, then ill have the converter re-stalled by PTC.
It will be fun telling people it runs 12's when it has 11 second power... Same for you... Haha only goes 10's... My friends LS goes 10.90's at 121mph.. No transbrake, just a Yank4000 stall. 1.45 60fts and a lot of trial and error.
Goodluck!

I had a streetfight converter sitting around so I sent it out to Hughes Peromance and had it rebuilt. The converter does everything it's suppose to do but with my setup (weight, gears, etc) I would need either a much higher stall speed or a TB to get out off the line.Originally Posted by project89

I thought about something in the 4000 range but I don't think I would like it on the street. Oh well!Originally Posted by AutoRoc
