So I have an 8 rib set up on my D-1SC. And with out the bracket the bolts to the plate and back of alternator it moves around enough to shred the belt. I didn't end up installing the bracket to the alt, because I had to re-clock alt. to be able to run the valve covers I needed to. Anyway its obvious it needs more support. I was planning on running some sort of stiffening rod back to the motor, but maybe just making a new plate out of steel to be more rigid. But it seems to me that the 3 long 3/8 blots and the aluminum spacers to the head are kind of flimsy too. I was thinking of getting steel spacers made as well. Then maybe still using some sort of tensioning rod back to the motor. And finally taking off the P.O.S. tensioner and putting a spring loaded type in its place. Thoughts?
