Blowthrough holley

Looking to put a kit together consisting of a H1C/HX35 holset on my LG4 305, theres a guy looking to get rid of a 4150 holley which would be perfect to convert to blow through, but its 850cfm, to big for a 305? I never played with carbs before but figure id give it a shot and do something different. Thanks

Re: Blowthrough holley

correct u size the carb as u would for an na engine

look on fleabay or craigslist or even the classified here get a carb that needs a rebuild cheap since u will be tearing the whole thing down anyway to modify it

u should be able to find one in the 30-50$ range

Re: Blowthrough holley

theres alot of good basoc info on turbomustangs/turboforums concerning bt build, sizing, parts, tricks, etc. but seems like a 850 may be too big but you may still be able to mod it and use mixin and matching w other carb parts. base plate, main bodies, etc.
if your not alredy a member, should check it out. alot of good info there

Re: Blowthrough holley

From my understanding of the blow throughs, start with a carb that's fairly conservatively sized for your engine. An 850 would not be it. You can end up with signal troubles if you get some huge carb to stick on a BT.
