supercharger from TPI to TBI??

supercharger from TPI to TBI??

Hey everyone, i just have a quick question. A friend of mine is selling his supercharger from his 305 TPI. I was wondering if there is any possible way to make it fit my 305 TBI. He says it can be done but i dont have have any clue how i could make it work. i figured you guys could help me out if this could actually be done. Thanks.

It can be done. You have to custom make a sealed box over the TBI. You might have to use some other brackets from the TPI too.

Supercharger companies make carb bonnets for use on carbed engines. You should be able to use one of those. You might need to use one of the adapters made to allow an airfilter housing from a carb to fit the TBI to clear the injectors. You should be able to get an exhaust shop to bend some tubing to match the output of the supercharger to the inlet of the carb bonnet. If you used stainless steel exhaust tubing for this you could polish it if the supercharger kit is polished.
You may have to address fuel enrichment durring boost conditions though. If the supercharger system has an adjustable FMU with it you may be able to use it for this.

You can also buy a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator for the TBI from GM. Do a search on the TBI board for the part number; or if you can't find it email me and I'll look it up...

Paxton makes a supercharger kit for the TBI engine.

There is a bonnet to seal the tbi. I believe you can purchase the parts you need through them or one of their distributors.
