383 help!

I have been restoring and modding out my 1992 pontiac firebird. The stock engine is a 3.1L v6. After i am completely done with the restoration, i am planning on building a 383 twin turbo for the car. I was contacting you to see what the best build sheet would be? I am planning on running EFI, and would like to run 91 octane pump fuel, dont want to do any mixing or racing fuel buys. So what would be a great build for the most horsepower on this? Dont have the block yet, so i could go chevy 350 or aftermarket. Thanks for your help.

Re: 383 help!

Have also been looking into water-methanol injection to go along with this set up. Thoughts?

Re: 383 help!

Budget is not a factor as i have nothing but time and can take the time to save up. Just want the job done correctly.

Re: 383 help!

Been doing my research and am gonn try to keep the CR around 10:1. Run hydraulic roller cams, dished pistons. Keep the bottom end forged and run aluminum on the top. Twin turbo with a water to methanol inhection system to act as the intercooler for the turbos. Fast Efi, intake port slightly smaller than the exhaust port.
whats everyones thoughts on this?

I think you'll get more usable answers here, rather than the Engine Swap forum.

Re: 383 help!

I would go dart shp block 350 main. Since bore diameters are all same price might as well do the 4.125 and build the 400" motor

Keep a dish piston in it. Go 9.0-9.5:1 comp for 91 octane. You will make better safer power on the lower compression lower rpm bigger inch motor

Do a 190-200 cc head. Efi wise i like single plane efi like edelbrock victor efi

For ecm options, holley hp is nice for the money and user friendliness

Small twins like t4 60-70mm stuff, 65-68mm turbines for fairly quick response. Budget will dictate brand used

I would suggest intercooling for best ease of use. No worries on filling meth tank or tuning around the meth fuel.

Its fairly easy to make anywhere from 600 to 800 whp like that with perfect street manners
