Vortech v3 383sbc

Wanted to share my car/project

The car is an 84 camaro thats been converted to a 88 iroc z. I have had it about 5 years now. It had a stock l98 when i bought it. I fitted a carb and a vortech v3 supercharger, and some other small mods. Ran it about 3 years before i took out 3 pistons..

The car has a prepped manual 700r4 transmission, 2400stall fti converter, stock 9bolt rear end with 2.73 gears. Eibach lowering springs, koni shocks front and bilstein rear. Lcarbs. Running 265/35r18 nankang ns2r rear tires.

2019 i bought a forged 383 shortblock from atk, brodix ik200 heads, comp xr282hr cam and holley sniper 1250 efi. Runs about 6psi with the pulleys i have on.
Went to dyno it and it made 330whp at 5500rpm blowing off my 3" exhaust due to backpressure. Taking off the exhaust and air filter it made 440whp at the same rpm, untuned.
I took it home and made a new 3,5" exhaust and fitted a bigger airfilter. Car performed good the rest of the season spinng first and second street on a roll.

I tried it once on a 1/8 mile legal street race. Best pass was a 8.5 at 93mph, 2.3 60fot. Spinning 1 and 2 gear.

I want to try some more racing this season, but i live in Norway so i am limited to some legal 1/8 mile street races and maybe 1 on a old prepped air field.
I bought a used set of 17" corvette rims with 315 mt et street tires, trying to get some grip. Testing in november on dirty cold country roads without a burnout i managed 2 second 60fot using dragy for measuring.

Some pictures of the broken engine.
I then decided to buy a new bottom end.

and new heads

I have ported and reworked the runners of the intake myself, had to ad some more material so it could be ported out to 1206 gasket

Dyno run letting off early and un tuned

Had to get a bigger air filter, this was the biggest i could fit. Supposed to be good to 950hp. Old filter and 1.5litre bottle to compare.

And some new rear wheels to get some more grip

sweet car, but the 3" exhaust having too much backpressure seems strange... my 4th gen ls1 car made around 400whp with a stock 3" slp dual/dual exhaust.

Actually it was a single 3" straight pipe from the headers back to a single 2,5" entry dual exit rear silencer. I had a 3" electric cut out in the front that i was going to open after, but the exhaust was a bigger restriction than i liked so went with a new one.
