performance flywheel...?

Hey all. Does anybody know how much a lightened or aluminum flywheel will affect performance? I understand that they reduce rotating mass, but wouldn't that theoretically decrease your available torque (less leverage of centifugal force)? Thanx for any replies

The only time this is really worth the trouble is if you're going to change the clutch plate, throw out bearing and everything else along with it, on a stick. Other than that, I don't think it's worth the trouble.
