Hey guys just wondering if anybody has any real world experience with forced Inductions turbos?? Are they as good as the company says they are??
I've been contemplating selling my vs racing turbo to a buddy and getting FI s480 with their v5 billet wheel. It's a T6 96mm turbine wheel so it'll just drop on to my hot side and downpipe no problem

Their latest greatest FIS models are pretty decent turbos. Better than their TDI units and some china units out there using basic impeller designs.
how much would it be over the vs 80? Idk…might not be alot. Difference you may see at max boost. I know their tdi 85mm didnt do anything vs cast borg 80’s until after 27 psi for me lol

I'm bringing this back up. So I'm still looking at getting one of these turbos in just taking my sweet time. But I plan on just getting it as a super core without a turbine housing as I've got a 1.15 on my current turbo.Originally Posted by Orr89RocZ

The thing I'm most curious about is what does a different turbine blade count do for a guy?? I noticed in the drop-down menu that he offers a gen 2 10 blade and a gen 3 9 blade turbine wheel for gas apps. What's the difference??
Id ask them. Curious myself.

Yea I figured that would be best to just ask them. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'm thinking maybe they help spool?? Idk we'll see what they sayOriginally Posted by Orr89RocZ

Forced Inductions just got back to me and this is what they say: The GEN three is the highest flowing turbine wheel. It is designed more for larger cubic inch engines 400+.

So I got a turbo upgrade today, I didn't go with a forced inductions turbo but I ended up going with a Black Sheep Industries TNT s488 on a 1.15 ar with a 96x88 turbine wheel.
I only had a little bit of time to try it out but hot damn it's night and day different compared to the VS Racing s480 on the same turbine housing and wheel. I also tried the 2 step and it lights up almost immediately built 13 psi in about 2.3 seconds where the VS turbo was on the high side of double that time.
This is definitely one of those you get what you pay for scenarios. When I compared the wheels on the compressor and turbine you can see just how much better the TNT wheels are. And they're also a Canadian company so that's a bit of a bonus for us up North. A guy put down 1286/1192 at the wheels on a mainline hub dyno with a 5.3L on 36 psi!!!
I'll post a few pics of the new turbo and the old and I'll try to get some video on a few back road test runs

Looks nice, do they supply a compressor map with it?

No they did not. I'm not really sure how many of the smaller companies do supply compressor mapsOriginally Posted by gp90gta

This TNT s488 also has a 9 blade turbine wheel compared to the 10 blade the VS racing s480 has
