Cowl/intercooler relationship
Cowl/intercooler relationship
Hey all
I was thinking, now let me know if this wouldn't work, but i was thinking about mounting my intercooler on top of my plenum and buying a cowl hood to suck cold air through to the intercooler. I would obviously have a metal shop or someone craft an airtight seal box for it... Would that work, or would it not draw enough air from the outside to lower the temperature of the boosted air significantly enough to be worth my money/time?

No,that wont work,or I should say, that wont work effectively. You need to ram air through that thing, like a radiator.
The cowl is good for picking up fresh air,but not forced fresh air, like a front opening scoop does.
Later,John.
