supercharger question
Hello all,
I have read alot in the forums about superchargers, however I haven't found the information I am looking for. First I have a '89 Firebird, 305, TBI, Vin Code E. Now I want a supercharger but I have no idea what brand to get for my car. I have heard of ATI, B&M, and more. Now since I have TBI, how will the supercager mount?? will it mount easy, or will I have alot of mods to do. Finally has anybody installed a superchager on a 305 TBI?? if so how much HP did you gain.
Thanks in Advance
Brad

Vortech and prolly ATI as well would work fine on TBI, just get the TPI kit for an 89 which has the same brackets as your TBI car, and get the carb adapter box which will mount right over you're Throttle body.

U can ditch the computer and go carb and strap a 144 Holley Powercharger on it for an easy 100 horsepower. using the original peanut cam is fine. if theres miles on the engine, like 70K+ you should change the springs while your in there. and get roller rockers. thats about it... of course youll also need the **** to go from CPU to carb, along with a new hood since it wont clear.
But its worth it... once you blow the 305... you still have the blower, so you can build a nice 350 for it and drop in a 500 horsepower monster that gets good gas mileage and sounds stock.

Hey bluegoose, if you are still looking, you can contact lpavtis@westol.com. He is very knowledgable and was able to piece together a TBI kit for the same price as the TPI one.
