Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

Just got my reproduction window sticker. Can you guys point out any possible mistakes?

One thing that doesn't seem right is the AR9 description. My car does not have leather seats! The dealer invoice shows "AR9 FRR2 RED BUCKET". How should it read on the window sticker?

Yes, the car has it and is listed under the 1SC Iroc package.

Car still has original seats. (27k original mile car) AR9 can come in either cloth or leather from what I understand.

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I've herd that sometimes these window stickers aren't always accurate as they should be,but maybe in your case the seats were switched over !!!! Are you the original owner???

Slick71ss 12-20-2012 08:49 PM

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I'm not the original owner. What I'm saying is AR9 by itself does not designate leather seats. The guy who made the repro window sticker made a mistake. The original dealer invoice says "AR9 FRR2 RED BUCKET". RPO "AR9" was used before the 1987 model year when leather wasn't even an option.

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I see what your saying,on my window sticker,it does't say what color the sears are,but it does say that they are cloth.Maybe the guy did make a mistake!!!Is your RPO sticker still in your car?? if so check it !!

Yes, have decoded my RPO sticker below. Does show cloth Carmine interior. Here's a pic of my seats. I think I read that they are a 1987 only style?

OK, got the seat issue cleared up!

The leather seat option would be listed as AR9 AQQ2 Gray Custom Leather Bucket $750.00

Mine should be AR9 FRR2 Red Custom Cloth Bucket $277.00

Next Issue... I think the order in which the options are listed is wrong. The "1SC" Iroc package should be listed after "Z28" and before "74U".

Question for you Slick71ss,

How did you go about getting the guy your payment info? Am I supposed to print off that email form he gave me and fill that out and mail it? I wanted to pay with a credit card...

You can mail it in or email the filled out form back to him. I filled it out and emailed it back. Haven't seen any suspicious charges on my card yet. :D

We'll see if he corrects the mistakes for me without a hassle. He said to contact him if there was a problem.

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I have had extreme problems with them getting the window sticker right. Every time I even told them how to correct the mistakes on my reproductions they couldn't get it right. After the third time on a couple of these window stickers they tried to make for me they wouldn't respond to my e-mails and didn't correct them. I kept the e-mails. I even talked to them on the phone and they eventually hung up on me. Good luck! If you don't have a mistake it is O.K. but if you want corrections made on your window sticker forget about it. They are lousy at correcting things! I don't see how GM lets them get away with it since they are the only ones authorized to make them. You can't get them anywhere else as far as I know. They have no competition, so they can give you any kind of service they want. I think they are the only ones licensed by GM to make them.
Please let us know what they do about your mistakes. Maybe things have changed since I last ordered one, but I doubt it! They never corrected their mistakes to my satisfaction the last time I did business with them.
If anyone knows of another company licensed to make them let us know who they are.

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

This is the email and photo I sent them. Will report if they send me a replacement that has the changes I requested. I tried to be clear on what needs to be changed.

I received the window sticker, but there are a few mistakes. Is it possible to have these fixed? I can send this one back.

Here's what I would like to be changed...

1) Model should read... "1987 CAMARO 2DR Z28 SPORT COUPE" (The "2DR" was left out)
2) Change "AR9 FRR2 RED LEATHER BUCKET" TO "AR9 FRR2 RED CUSTOM CLOTH BUCKET" (Car has custom cloth, not leather)
3) Change "74U DARK RED" TO "74U DARK RED METALLIC" ("METALLIC" was left out)
4) Please move the 1SC IROC OPTION PACKAGE to after Z28 and before 74U in the equipment list. (this is how it would have been listed originally)

I attached a photo of the window sticker with the requested changes marked in red. I also have a scan of an original window sticker from another 1987 Camaro that I've used for reference. I can send that if requested.

Please advise what I need to do to get this corrected.

Thank you,

Philip Dore

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I was just looking at the Camaro White Book on page 108 and 109. If you ordered the 1SC option #3 for IROCs and you had the RPO D42 which is the cover for the rear cargo area the cost is listed as $3,273.00. Which is what was ordered on your car according to the RPO list you posted.

If you ordered the same 1SC option #3 for IROCs and didn't order the one with RPO D42 cover for the rear cargo area the price for that particular option would be $3,204.00 This is $69.00 less for ordering the 1SC option #3 without the RPO D42 cover.

The list of options for your 1CS IROC option package #3 should have the D42 cover listed on it since you have the higher priced 1CS option#3 which included the D42 option. It looks like they printed the 1CS option list that didn't have D42 on your reproduction window sticker. This might be an error.

Does anyone have a GM original 1987 window sticker from an IROC with the 1SC option #3 with the higher priced $3,273.00 D42 option on it to compare with the reproduction one? You would think that it should have a different list of options since they are two separate packages at two separate prices?

Or GM might have used the same option list for both packages and left the D42 off on the higher priced one by mistake. The only way to know for sure is to see an original window sticker with the D42 option on it in 1987 and one without it as a comparison.

Good catch.

I looked into the price difference but it didn't dawn on me that it should be listed on there.

I can see that "rear compartment cargo cover" is listed on this one from Ebay(last line left column)...

I added the picture to the TGO database for future reference. Not sure who owned the imageshack account it was linked from. Scott

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I had some extra time this morning so I looked at Scott's original window sticker and the one you found. Here are 10 more mistakes.

1. At the top after model: there should only be one space not 3-4 as in the reproduction.

2. There should be 3-4 spaces after Vehicle ID is listed not just one as the reproduction.

3. Five Speed should not have a hyphen between Five-Speed as in the reproduction

4. There is no 8 digit number under the Vin.# as all the original window stickers have.

5. They forgot to list the city where it says delivered to dealer, its probably Southgate.

6. At "body-colored" soft front & rear "FASCIA" the wrong spelling is used on the reproduction, there is no "S" in the spelling on the original ones. It can be spelled both ways as "FASCIA or FACIA" back then they spelled it facia.

7. Items in the 1st options list is about 2 spaces too far to the left.

8. The middle column with "no charge" is one space too far to the left.

9. Third column is too far to the left it needs to be moved a couple spaces to the right.

10. The final 8 digit number at the bottom right before F8A is missing just like at the top below the Vin.# This number should be the same as at the top on the original window stickers.

If I kept looking there are probably more mistakes that would turn up. See if they will change the ones above that I have listed. They did say reproduction. They also said they would make corrections if you brought it to their attention. If they can't get the spacing to look original they should at least not leave off cities and numbers related to the production and correct spellings back in 1987.
Once again, good luck getting them to address the corrections to make it look like the original window sticker. I couldn't!
There is nothing quite like the original!

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

When I ordered 4 of them from him at once, 2 were screwed up. My IROC had a 2.8 V6 listed as base equipment, and he had the automatic EPA ratings for my 6 speed Z28. He agreed to fix the IROC with no issue, but made the comment to me that he would only fix the Z28 problem "because I have to send another one out anyway. I don't normally fix EPA fuel economy issues."

My response? "For $50 a pop I would expect to be getting perfect ones no matter how many have errors. Period." I got both fixed, within a few days.

So he fixed them, but he's kinda bitchy

Thanks to everybody for the new information about Camaros that I never knew.

Now that you've got all the corrections to make your window sticker as close to original as possible, it will be interesting to see if they correct them for you.

Thanks Scott. That window sticker is a little different than all the others I have seen. Main thing being it doesn't seem to list the options in a similar order as the others.

scottmoyer 01-07-2013 02:25 PM

Re: Any mistakes on my repro Window Sticker?

I wouldn't worry too much about the option order as I have a few other 87 window stickers and they list the options similar to mine. I don't believe that there will be much scrutiny of these window stickers in the future as long as they match this one above or mine. The majority of the ones I've seen from Norwood match the Van Nuys style mine has.

upon further digging, it looks like the stickers that match my format, are all higher VIN'd cars. The sticker I show above has a low number. With your VIN being higher, than you should be good with your current format.
