New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine 3 Attachment(s) Hey guys, I almost finished setting up my engine bay for test fitting the ls1. lmk what you think! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Looks good man |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Stuff It!! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine It looks so sanitary! I really like the shaved firewall and bottle mounting holes. Are you getting rid of the wiper motor? It looks like you shaved that too. Did you do anything cool with the battery mounting tray area, and canister areas?? |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Wiper motor is shaved, as for the battery tray and the canister area, I didnt do anything to them yet. Im just not sure what are the future plans for the LS1... If I ever go twin, thats where I placing the turbos. I dunno, time will tell! ;) |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine What ever you do I'm sure it will look good! Keep us posted on all the little updates as they come!! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Thanks Bad! btw, those brakes of yours looks awesome and like I said it before, you have an incredible ride. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Wow...that's so...clean...I would eat off that... Anyway, look great -- keep the pictures coming, please. :) |

Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Sure thing! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine No heat and no wipers.........Not the best idea imo. And I am saying that from experience. Other then that looks sweet man. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Thats exactly what I am going to do to my car when I get older and get another car. I love the small custom things like the shaved wall. Looks great! Do you have a built LS1 already or just test fitting the block? |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Dennis: Engine itself is a stock '00 LS1. Im not sure yet if Im gonna mod it before firing the car. I did so many mods to the car (custom wiring, HP Tuner...) that I dont want to troubleshoot a modded engine too (In case something isnt going right). When the car is all put back together and running well, Im gonna start modding it for sure! Grover85: I chose to delete both because the car will be a "4 wheel bike" car. Its not my DD nor a practical car to me. In the last years Ive owned the car, it never saw rain, even if it had wipers. As for the A/C - Heat, the car never had A/C to start with and I dont think Ill be needing heat as it is only for hot days. I made choices, and I guess Im gonna have to live up to those! ;) |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Looks great Spike ! What did you use to fill the spot where the front emblem went ? I'm repainting mine and want to delete it . thanks Mike T |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine That looks real good. My 2cents: is if you would've painted the bay black it would've had 2x the impact!! Real nice job anyway :) |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine looks awesome! truely sweet looking. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Raptor80dad: I have no idea what was used to fill it, I paid a sh!t load for the bodywork, so it better be the damn best thing/compound/putty/stuff! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine thanks anyway:) |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Holy smokes, I don't know how I missed this thread, but back from the dead it comes. Nice work Spike! Any updates? I'm loving watching this progress. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Wow Im long overdue for an update. I swear by this weekend Ill have new pics dude! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Can't wait for more pics  |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine spike in a word incredible !! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine always been a huge fan of your car looking sweet as always:thumbsup: |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Wow, its been a year already since I last posted in this thread. Time flies! Learning a lot at being a dad and building my family a house, http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0091_large.jpg I didnt had much time and money to put on the car. Now that I have a bit more time, the economic crisis is paralyzing the world. I guess its not the time to spend 10k on a "toy". It will get done, I just dont wanna get in debt doing so. I hope it will run by the beginning of the summer. Im waiting for my clutch to get here so I can put the whole drivetrain in the car and bring it @ my new house. Here are a couple of pics for you guys to look at. Please be patient and keep on watching the build, I miss driving this car... man, 5 years passed since I started this build. http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0078_large.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0075_large.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0073_large.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0060_large.jpg Enjoy |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine hey what kind of spindles are they and what rotors are they |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Spindles are the stockers modified for C5 / C6 brakes. The rotors are from a C6 Z06. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Beautiful car man. I've always been partial to this body style in white. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Wow, nice work and house... I am super jealous! |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine what do you have done with your wiring? it looks really good, i want to hide my wires as much as possible cause they look like crap stuck out all over the place, thanks, nice car you got there. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine ok sorry i ment the hub with the bearings in that because those are a good idea to do take of rotors where did you get them |

Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine I used to check your cardmain about once a month to see if there were any updates. I stopped doing it after I realized you were no longer updating it :/ I really wanted to see this thing on the road..Mainly because I am a big fan of white 3rd gen camaro's..but I was also looking for ideas for my own car. I'm glad you're back at it. |
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Lookin good, im also restoring a white one. Your cars my motivation. |

Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine Interior will mostly be stock. Ill recover the original trims with black vinyl. The seats are changed for race seats with harnesses. Dash remains the same but with Autometer gauges. The rear seats are no more. New carpet and door panels. |
