It looks so sanitary! I really like the shaved firewall and bottle mounting holes. Are you getting rid of the wiper motor? It looks like you shaved that too. Did you do anything cool with the battery mounting tray area, and canister areas??

Wiper motor is shaved, as for the battery tray and the canister area, I didnt do anything to them yet. Im just not sure what are the future plans for the LS1... If I ever go twin, thats where I placing the turbos. I dunno, time will tell!

Thanks Spike! Really appriciate it. I am really wanting to tear mine apart and smooth out the engine bay like yours... might not be too far off my engine is getting a decent amount of blow by. I might hit you up for tips when I get there. later

Thats exactly what I am going to do to my car when I get older and get another car. I love the small custom things like the shaved wall. Looks great!
Do you have a built LS1 already or just test fitting the block?

Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine
Dennis: Engine itself is a stock '00 LS1. Im not sure yet if Im gonna mod it before firing the car. I did so many mods to the car (custom wiring, HP Tuner...) that I dont want to troubleshoot a modded engine too (In case something isnt going right). When the car is all put back together and running well, Im gonna start modding it for sure!
Grover85: I chose to delete both because the car will be a "4 wheel bike" car. Its not my DD nor a practical car to me. In the last years Ive owned the car, it never saw rain, even if it had wipers. As for the A/C - Heat, the car never had A/C to start with and I dont think Ill be needing heat as it is only for hot days. I made choices, and I guess Im gonna have to live up to those!

That looks real good. My 2cents: is if you would've painted the bay black it would've had 2x the impact!! Real nice job anyway

Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine
Wow, its been a year already since I last posted in this thread. Time flies!
Learning a lot at being a dad and building my family a house,

I didnt had much time and money to put on the car. Now that I have a bit more time, the economic crisis is paralyzing the world. I guess its not the time to spend 10k on a "toy". It will get done, I just dont wanna get in debt doing so. I hope it will run by the beginning of the summer. Im waiting for my clutch to get here so I can put the whole drivetrain in the car and bring it @ my new house. Here are a couple of pics for you guys to look at.
Please be patient and keep on watching the build, I miss driving this car... man, 5 years passed since I started this build.

Enjoy

Spindles are the stockers modified for C5 / C6 brakes. The rotors are from a C6 Z06.

Looking good w/ the white engine bay. Where did you get the headlights and parking lights? I need some new ones.

Both from Ebay. The headlights are cheap projectors knock offs but I bought them for the look. Im still gonna make them HID tho.
Re: New pics, engine bay almost ready for the engine
I used to check your cardmain about once a month to see if there were any updates. I stopped doing it after I realized you were no longer updating it :/
I really wanted to see this thing on the road..Mainly because I am a big fan of white 3rd gen camaro's..but I was also looking for ideas for my own car.
I'm glad you're back at it.

Interior will mostly be stock. Ill recover the original trims with black vinyl. The seats are changed for race seats with harnesses. Dash remains the same but with Autometer gauges. The rear seats are no more. New carpet and door panels.

Bonspeed's Intense 5. Bought them on the net a good while ago. They are worth a shiny penny tho.
