Interior vacuum leak = engine shuts down? My 91 RS 305 has been running rough lately due to my putting off a tuneup, and now it's developed the delightful symptom of simply dying while at speed. After a few sparkplug hose replacements and fixing a broken vacuum hose in the engine bay, it runs even worse and now shuts down whenever doing low RPM on a gradient. I can sometimes floor it and cause it to roar back to life but 9/10 times I have to come to a full stop, put it in park, and start it all over again. Ever since I fixed the vacuum leak in the bay a brand new one behind my air con control panel has sprung into being. Is the possible solution to my engine turning itself off that darn vacuum leak in the cabin? |
Re: Interior vacuum leak = engine shuts down? Maybe but probably not your problem. It should definitely be addressed, though. There are a few threads regarding the HVAC control vacuum leak issue.
