i have an animated avatar and it says its too big to use how do i make it smaller?

 

Max size for an avatar here is 20K

I resized every picture which makes up my avatar as a smaller .gif, with Paint Shop Pro. It reduced the file size, then i skipped 2 frames between each frame of animation.

Downloads.com, and I did a search on "gif animator" and found one which let me "optimize" my animated gif.

After lots of trial and error, i got mine down to 18K. Not as cool as my 130K version on another website, but it works.
