Can I attach pictures from a tripod page, on thirdgen?

I'm looking to share some pics, but they're not hosted, and I don't want to go through the hassle of creating a tripod page for the sole purpose of hosting picture, only to find out that it won't work.

Talk to me like I've never done this before (cuz I haven't! ), if you need to get technical.

Thanks!

K, so looks like Tripod won't do it, that's OK anyways. They would only host like 12 pics. That's not enough!

What about geocities? What's the usual method for doing this?
Thanks again!

You could always post them one pic at a time, and just choose the best ones.. As long as they are on your hard drive you just have to attach them.

Once they've been attached, they're stored locally on the thirdgen server. The next time you want to post that pic you can link from it. Brad has mentioned that people should do this to help conserve harddrive space. Let's not abuse the attachment "privilage". It's annoying seeing 12 consecutive posts with attachments just because people aren't smart enough to figure out how to upload pictures to the server that almost every ISP provides to their customers as part of their internet service. </rant>

www.ranchoweb.com hosts pictures, but they only give you 1MB. But it does allow remote linking. Alot of sites (like my web host) will not display the picture if it is linked from another site. Do a search on google for 'picture hosting' and you will find a ton of sites that will host pictures for free. Just make sure they allow remote linking. Alot of picture hosts actually say stuff like 'for hosting images for message boards'.
