two letter search

Anyway of changing the two letter minimum in search to a one letter minimum? I have many times needed to search for something and the two letter minimum ruins the search. For example: tv cable - no one ever spells out throttle valve cable in the boards, so searching for throttle valve cable is pointless. There are many other two letter acronyms, we need two letter searches.

I think the minimum is 3. You would have to understand the way the current vB system uses the search system to understand how the search function isn't that great, especially for boards this size. Dirk/Iroc have said until they either look into a search hack or vB releases a version where it takes advantage of mysql's full text searching, it probably cannot be resolved right away. It is very inconvenient, but I'm not sure there is a lot that can be done at this time. In case you are familiar with vB, yes, they do have the option to reduce the minimum search word (then they would have to re-index the search index), but I assume Dirk believes it still won't work well enough with this size of board on the server, and he knows better. The stock search system on these vB systems really aren't that great. That's my understanding, since this has been brought up before.

OK - just a thought - I really love the site, and use it almost daily, and will continue to. Thanks for the reply.
