How do i put a picture under my name on the box on left hand side?
That is called an avatar.
1) Click on the
button which is near the top right half of your screen
2) Click on the Edit Options link
3) Click on the Change Avatar button
If you have an image on your computer, you can upload it to the database by clicking on the Browse button that is found in the "You can upload an avatar from your computer:" section. Find the image on your PC then click OK. Then click on the Submit Modifications.
Note that the current maximum limitations of avatars are 64 by 64 pixels or 20000 bytes. If your image is over either of these, you will not be able to use the avatar. You will need to edit the image to fit under the maximum limitations.
