People with the darn email notification just can't resist replying to prove it still works but then they lock people out.

Stop it. If you have it turned on, do not reply.. . .

I wonder if the site is being hacked. Another big car forum was recently hacked and the results of the hack were slow and had funky results. Till the site was taken down.

They had to up date to the newest Version 3.0.3, to stop the hack bugs in the older software.

It may be best to just lock the whole site down for a week and upgrade.

 

i can't speak for TGO being on this side, but i'm not so sure that the site is being hacked.

This didn't happen until after the server was restarted this morning after Dirk's message of a scheduled outage for power in the building that houses the server.

i'm guessing this is a result of something happening (more like not) with the email server when the server was brought back up this morning.

i *think* if the Admins turn off the entire email option in the vB control panel (there is an option), it may allow things to work (up to a point) until someone can get into the server to correct the email server issue, if that really is the issue.
