Why do you have to Log-Out from Forum Home?

Why do you have to Log-Out from Forum Home?
Is there a way where there could be a log-out link always on top or bottom of the page somewhere instead of having to always go back to the forum home? Not a big deal I guess just a matter of convience so after posting you could just log out if you want.
