I read the messages on the front page, but without being able to search it makes it quite difficult.

im hoping for an ETA too
they said it was up for awhile, but then the server started lagging again. It would lag horribly and time out for me.

News relating to the search, or any other major site changes, will be posted on the front page of the site (https://www.thirdgen.org).
For now, the search is back on, although with a limit of 5 searches at a time (this shouldn't be much of a problem) and a 5 minute timeout for anyone who gets impatient and clicks their browser's "Stop" button and tries to resubmit the search.
