RE: Search

...First, no more than 5 users can search at a time....
...having to wait 5 minutes before you can search again...
...search results are limited to 500. To be honest though, if you can't find what you're looking for in the top 500 results, you're probably not going to find it...
Obviously you haven't been members of the site before either.
You still to focus on this a bit more, the search is why a large group of the membership still visits and a limit of how many people can search is just going to drive people to other sites where they can get their answers in an easier fashion making it even herder to recoup costs and profit from the board. IMNSHO anyway.

Do you know why there are those limits? It is to prevent the sever load from getting out of hand, which can cause inaccessibility issues.

It's better to have some limits on the search feature, which keeps the server load under control and the forums accessible, than it is to have the search unlimited, and the forums difficult to access.

I do not believe this is a long-term solution, but I'm not the server administrator, Jason is.

Yes JT, I know, I'm not ignorant of the issues, I was making an observation and having fun at the same time. You've been around long enough to know my general MO.

True, thus the need to keep focus on it rather than settle for the less than mediocre state it is in currently.

I sure hope not if they want to make mon-e-ay!
