How about dropping the search waiting time from the rediculous 90sec its at to something like 30seconds...

It really sucks to sit around for a minute and a half waiting to search again because ya screwed up spelling or something!

It is to help ensure that the server load remains stable enough that everyone can access the boards and use it's features with minimal degrade in performance.

If the search limit "flood" wasn't in effect, the search can easily bring the forums down. Many (large) websites need some "flood" features to ensure that intensive processes (such as searches) do not severely impact the server enough to impact the entire forum operation. This forum is large in size and in activity. Searching is an intensive process. vB isn't exactly known for being easy on servers (mainly for large websites).

I believe the feature is likely going to remain in some form and that 30 seconds isn't going to work, atleast for now.

It is inconvenient, but so is performance issues on the forums that would affect everyone, which might occur if the server has to spend more time processing search queries than serving up webpages.

One option is to perform a Google Advance search

Google Advanced Search

and specify https://www.thirdgen.org/forums as the only domain from which to return results. It doesn't care how often you refresh or change the parameters, and task loads Google's servers instead of TGO/Xoxide hardware. You can customize the search parameters to match single or multiple words, phrases, include matches containing at least one of a list of terms, or exclude results based on terms, and do it all without loading a bunch of Boolean logic keys.
