I believe I may have been through this before although I can't find any record of it posted. My questions revolves around posting an image directly into a private message. Looks to me that I can add something with an URL but I can't post something from my own computer files. Is that right?

The software has never supported the ability to directly attach images within PMs. It's simply not in the code. You must already have the image online and "hot-link" it within a PM.
