Group Purchases.

Now that I know what the low down is. I totaly agree that the sponors should be asked in the first place if we can get a GP going. I didn't like how it was handled by deleting posts without explinations. Thanks to the sponors =) for this site and Dirk.

I for one would pay Sphon more for the same quality product any day of the week and I believe he should the only person along with the other sponsers to do Gp's.

I absolutely disagree. Every day people trying to set up group buys to save a little money are being equated to businesses illegitimately exploiting the forum. HUGE DIFFERENCE! This concept is going right over your heads.

Qwk hit it right on the nose. Since when does an ordinary person become labeled as someone trying to dis a sponsor when in reality he or she is trying to find a way to help a fellow entusiast?

Perhaps it should be noted in the terms and conditions that you MUST ask for permission before posting a GP, or else you MUST purchase from one of the GP's provided by the sponsors of the site.

In addition

WHAT happen to the spohn 1LE brake GP, heck I would have bought them in a heart beat. I havent heard of an update, projected stocking date, nothing. Man I was all ready to buy and now the feeling gone It would have been nice. If I advertise here, I would have kept people informed and EXCITED ready to buy, anticipating the sell. It makes good business sense, wouldnt you agree

When I got on the mailing list he started when it was decided to import the missing parts we were told right out it would not be until May until the parts arrived from overseas. If you're interested email Steve and tell him you want to be on the 1LE mailing list. You seem a little snotty towards him for some reason, he's the best vendor I've ever dealt with and a wealth of information when you get him on the phone. I see no reason to be giving him a hard time. Just my .02

well I don't like the idea for example: of spoon killing the Baer GP post because of his 1LE brake group thing but I DO if thunder Racing is the one that can do the GP for us. No suspension thing should be axed because he sells suspension suff and he want his pushed but if thunder racing can get us the same suspsion stuff that we asked originaly then it should go through Thunder. ahh Ithink I confused myself now.

No, Tas, you didn't confuse anyone at all, or yourself.

If Thunder Racing can get the Baer GP, great!

If I came across that way I'm SORRY. I just like to be kept upto date, and I dont want to bother him with another email, Im sure he has enough emails to deal with

I agree Steve is a class act, I can see from ALLOT of satisfied members he is well liked and respected, that earned from great customer service.

Now with that said and meant, I posted the prior responses before reading all the other issues with GP and I must say I'm humbled.

Brad and staff is right, its their board if you dont like it, voice your opinion and leave it at that.

If you want a good deal email or PM me I'll hook you up with WHOEVER I know that has good deals, and believe me I have the line on serveral cool and deal providing vendors.

Have a good weekend people, be safe and have fun

The best analogy I can give to this situation is a grocery store. Most stores have a classifed ad's section when you walk into it. Now if you were that store and a competitor put up their sales ad showing cans of peas .10 cheaper than you. What would you do? Would you A) leave it up and just tell people to not respond to the ad or B) tear down the ad since you're paying for the bulletin board and they are attempting to take away some of your sales.

Now if the business next door wanted to hang a little advertisment for $1 off say haircuts do you think the business would just walk in and start posting their ads all of the store? No they'd first ask if it was okay if they did that.

That from my side is the biggest problem. GP are great ideas. But the business wanting to sponsor the GP should first check with the site owner(s) or at the very least clear it with the moderator. That way there is no hard feelings. Or at least cuts down on them.

The problem that i still have with this, is that this is not other buisness' advertising, these are individuals that are posting saying "i talke to so and so , at such and such a company, and he said that if we get 10 people to buy we all get a break", with that said, if it was to be rephrases so that there was no vender name in there, would the admins of this board still have a problem, i think so. How is this any diffrent from the vender reveiw board, all that board is is people braging about service, prices of other venders other than sponsers, i don't see how a GP takes more buisness away than that board does, but that is just my view.

i would agree that the sponsers of this board should get first "dibs" on GP's of stuff they offer, so long as the price is reasonable to the compitions, but if the vender declines, then could be post a GP? wha about the 1le GP's that got deleted? which one of those sponsers sells a 1le kit? i looked at all 6 webpages and never found one mention of 1le brakes. so now are we deleting posts for products that may be in the development stage?

I like the idea of having GP's with the sponsers, but i am not made of money, and when i have the money for my car, i want to spend it on my car, and get the best deal i can, i don't want to wait around for one of teh sponsers to finaly get around to doing a GP on the product i want, i don't think the sponsers will be willing to do that many GP's, that is where other venders come in.

the best thing the WHOLE thirdgen f-body community can do for our lack of aftermarket products, is to buy lots of products for our cars from anyone who makes them, that will show the merchants that we are serious about our cars, and that the demand for parts is there, and in turn more parts will be made, and this needs to be done with other company's other than sponsers, because the sponsers already know the demand is there, that is why their busnesses are geared towards f-bodys.

just my last .02 i am done talking about this subject, i will honor any rules laid out by the admins, even if i disagree, but i would like you guys to concider making a set of rules for this stuff, that doesn't completey ruin GP's from other venders, i don't know what your contract with the sponsers is, but honor that contact, but please get a set of guidlines laid down so that we all know them, so this doesn't happen again.

As with Dewey, I am done speaking about this subject after I state this.

We need to come up with guidelines for GP's. If I had the money and wanted 1LE brakes right now, I wouldn't wait for a product that's in development that's being made by one of our sponsors. That's just me.

Your analogy is perfect. Good job. You simply proved my claim that this site has been purchased at a price. About time you admitted it.

Tas,

Just to clear one thing up that you posted here. I never deleted the Baer GP post, I don't delete posts. As a moderator of the suspension board, if I see something that is questionable, I notify the admins.

To accuse me of deleting any post that competes with what I sell is ridiculous. I've been a moderator here for many years, and as far as I can remember there is discussion of numerous brands of components daily.

I could care less if you run a Baer GP to be honest with you. The point is that Thunder Racing carries Baer, they are a sponsor here, and they were being bypassed...end of story.

Baer doesn't even compete with the 1LE kit as far as I'm concerned. If you want to pay $400-$500 more for the same thing, knock yourself out. I was able to order 100 sets of the 1LE carrier brackets this production run, and they'll be gone the first week I get them in, I have no doubt about that. A Baer GP has no effect on the parts I'm getting in, you can run a Baer GP every week, it's not going to hurt me at all.

I hope we have that cleared up. No hard feelings, but in the future please contact me by email or by phone if you have concerns with me, and I'll give you an honest answer. Don't post false assumptions. Thanks.

Steve

Ok, before things get out of hand. Let's close this post.

I think we've said all that we want to say, so let's close this post.

Steve, I wasn't accusing you of deleting the posts. I was just questioning why the post was deleted, that's all.

Anyway, let's just close this post. Please?
