Biggest F-body fail I have ever seen

For those who haven't seen this yet..

Here is a quote from the youtube video ... with a link below

"One lovely spring evening, my father decided to power wash the engine bay in a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA he was about to sell. Somehow, he created a SEVERE misfire by doing so. In his attempts to "dry out" the engine so it would run normally again (revving the **** out of it), lots of raw fuel from the misfire are dumped into the catalytic converters, making them melt and shoot molten metal chunks out of the tail pipe (as seen in video). He decided to try and blow the rest out so the exhaust wouldn't clog, I didn't have the sense at the time to tell him that's a BAD ****ing idea...I was just worried about filming how badly the car was running haha. The cats got SUPER HOT! Something under the car caught fire almost instantly and the result is what you see... Enjoy the CHAOS of our night! (Happened 4/2/15)"

Agree!

That's why some animals eat their young.

A real shame.

I feel like giving my GTA a hug when I get home, after this vid.

Also, wondering if he'll sell me the fender/front bumper cheap.

I could be wrong, but looks to me like he had a leak at the fuel filter or something. That doesn't just happen. The cat(s) are much further forward from where the fire started.

BTW, I love the commentary. Where do these people come up with these sayings? I understand that he's scared and in shock, but "Holy C*nt?" WOW!!

Re: Biggest F-body fail I have ever seen

If I were their insurance company's claims adjuster , and saw that video , I'd be awful suspicious as to why neither idiot ran to get any kind of fire extinguisher or even garden hose to attempt to knock down the fire while it was still small . It took long enough for the fire to get to "the point of no return" that it could have been easily knocked down with a common household fire extinguisher or garden hose within the first half minute or so . And the continuing to rev it like a moron even after sparks & flames first appeared thing ? What's up with that ???

I'd love to know what the insurance payout was on it ....

PS , a quick shot of what ALL the best dressed third gens are wearing these days ........
