I've been lurking here for a while after my friend James told me about your forum. I hadn't thought much about a 3rd generation Car until seeing his really nice 1985 IROC. I looked for a while but would usually get sidetracked and buy something else (short attention span). This car was sitting under a tarp a few blocks from home and had been there a while. I went over and looked and dirty as it was i thought it might be ok. I made an offer and after he talked to his wife they called back and accepted. I picked up the car a week ago this evening and have been getting little things fixed and cleaning as much neglect out of it as I can. It turned out to be a decent looking car in I think fairly good condition. I like the fact that it appears pretty original under the hood and James pointed out to me that it has the original type mufflers. I'm amazed at how well I like the car. The worst part about the car for me is the mildew smell from being under a tarp but it is getting better every day so I hope to have it gone in the next few weeks. Happy to be here.
