Two cars that will never been seen together again, brought to you by Scott Moyer, current moderator of this forum and myself, the original moderator. These pics were shot in Tucson, Arizona where I live. Scott's car, the 1982 Indy, will be transported to his home in Florida very soon. Mine is the 1987 Z28 convertible, TPI / 5-speed.

 

Thanks to Willie for helping me obtain this car. There is a long story associated with getting it, but members of TGO have again stepped up to help other members. Years ago, another TGO member spent his time investigating a car for IROCZTWENTYGR8. TGO members have again come thru to help others get cars and get them home.

 

I'm so glad to see the Indy is coming home! Congrats Scott!

And Willie... Damn brother, I thought you died or were abducted by aliens or something. I'm glad to see you're still around!

The '82 has been in the family since 2000 when I helped my father get it via an eBay auction. Over the years, I've worked with him on getting the car as correct as possible (minus the louvers). He passed away on Father's Day weekend 2016 and it became a family battle to get the car. Willie was local to the car and was able to pick it up for me before it was sold. I'm looking forward to bringing it home and finishing any work my father started.

I'm hoping this time spent with the '82 brings Willie back!! Notice how he got his '87 on the road again after many years. I know it's not a 9 second GT500, but the '82 does look good, right Willie!!! ;-)

I think it's great that you were able to get the car, and keep it in the family. My paternal grandfather had two antique cars, and a beautiful old Chris Craft boat. Sadly, we were not able to keep any of them in the family.

Coincidentally saw that car yesterday when I picked up a copy of Camaro and Firebird GM's Power Twins at a swap meet.

Glad you were able to keep the car in the family. It's now going where it should be. What a great way to keep your fathers memory close. When my father died I kept a personal item (not a beautiful car like this) that he used most every day. Its worth way more to me than its cash value and I will keep it close and use it in his memory. I hope his car gives you the same comfort.
